We left the East Coast of the South Island today and moved
to the West Coast. We traveled through
the mountains with a quick stop in Hanmer Springs for a dip in the natural hot
spring pools, and then down the coast
ending in Punakaiki. We unpacked into
our cabins which resemble treehouses and then took a hike to the beach.
We were at the beach at sunset and the girls had a great
time looking through the different stones that made up the beach and exploring
the rock formations.
The West Coast is
so different from the East Coast- it’s astonishing!
Marina is preparing an amazing meal for the
girls then we’re off to bed early – big day hiking, kayaking, and horseback riding
tomorrow!
